Collecting Dreams is a new offering by Tallinn-based artists Helen Västrik and Ave Vellesalu.
The single follows Vera Vice’s second album Forget Me Not, described by Louder Than War as a “lesson in seduction”.
Like their previous work, the single teases the listener to pull off the veil of dreamy sound. Collecting Dreams begins with an undulating double bass, a metaphorical question mark, opening a paragraph on celestial bodies, longing and determination. There is a new element too, a sense of maturity and boldness that evokes the sensual music of Sade and the ambient experiments of Grouper.
Following the release of their second LP Forget Me Not earlier this year, Vera Vice have performed at music festivals across Europe, including Tallinn Music Week (EE), MENT Ljubljana (SI) and Way Out West (SE). The duo will represent Estonian talent at the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival in Groningen, Netherlands on 19 January 2023.
