A good place to start is by supporting businesses and creators you care about directly. Check out our favorite Black-owned brands below. These companies have the perfect clothing and accessories to kick your goth and alternative looks up a notch!

Three of Swords

Witchy designs and vampire-inspired tees are some of the incredible finds you’ll discover in the Atlanta-based Three of Swords webshop. “Three of Swords was created with two things in mind: the importance of comfort while maintaining a unique look and the value of alternative people of color,” Founder Anya Gibson writes on the website’s “About” section. This store will come in handy, especially during quarantine season, so you can maintain your goth look and chill in bed without creasing any leather jackets or skirts.

Liberté

Liberté founder Amber Tolliver has nearly two decades of experience as a model in the fashion industry as both a regular and plus-size model. She used her wealth of knowledge to go into the lingerie industry, crafting size-inclusive pieces. These lacy bra pieces will look perfect styled under mesh shirts, leather jackets and cropped band tees to make you feel classy and edgy all at once.

Among The Prime

Based in Brooklyn, owner and founder Oliver Prime designs streetwear with an edgy twist and releases each item in their own collection. Currently, you can visit the brand’s site to find the T-shirt Prime drew inspired by the manga Initial D, as well as a sky-blue puffer jacket that gives off incredible Billie Eilish vibes. You can follow the brand’s Instagram to watch out for all collection drops.

Scarlet & Graves

If you’re in the market for comfy tees with gory, gruesome and all-around metal designs, check out Scarlet & Graves. The company specializes in devilish, occult designs that fans of horror movies and witchy aesthetics will adore thoroughly. You can enjoy coziness and creepiness all at once. If you don’t know which design to pick, the Dayton-based company also offers a mystery box option.

Pretty Boy Gothic

“Why be like everyone else when you can separate yourself from a world of people that want to be like everyone else.” That’s Pretty Boy Gothic‘s manta. The brand formed in 2017 and features clothing designs donned with everything from detailed skulls and skeletons to metal script tees bearing its name. The brand perfectly bridges an alt aesthetic with cozy streetwear fashion. You can follow its social media to keep an eye out for new collections.

Gothic Lamb

Known as “the home for melanated misfits,” Gothic Lamb is the perfect place to shop right now if the holiday all about love isn’t your thing. The company is currently offering its Anti-Valentine’s Day collection for those who love emo and goth aesthetics but hate everyone else. Founder and owner Lucy also designed items where a portion of the proceeds goes directly to Black Lives Matter. You can choose from tees, hoodies and even a mask donning its important message.

BeetleMilk

For all of our pastel goths out there, here’s a brand calling your name. BeetleMilk is the perfect place to shop for light, colorful clothes, stickers and more featuring cute kawaii and occult designs. Though the store is temporarily closed until March 1, be sure to check out its social media to get a taste of what’s to come. Also, this brand will give you a free tarot card with your purchase.

In Control Clothing

In Control Clothing is here to serve a wide range of alt and scene consumers, whether you want to be cute kawaii dresser, a cyberpunk goth with futuristic flair or a head-to-toe black purist. If you’re feeling witchy, Control Clothing offers bat-patterned overalls for those who want to be Hex Girls in real life.

Blue Reign

Blue Reign specializes in lingerie that isn’t your typical Victoria’s Secret look. This studio uses vegan and faux leather and strappy designs to make edgier and more modern-looking pieces. It even offers corsets that would look perfect over or under your shirt. Frankly, we’re loving that corsets are in style for 2021.

Bound UK

Bound UK is essential to your wardrobe if you’re looking for chokers, harnesses, belts and more. Add them to any skirt, dress or top to elevate your already stellar look. Plus, it’ll make you feel super edgy all day with low effort. The brand also sells occult earrings and logo tees. Though the business is based in the U.K., you can visit its Etsy shop to purchase items with USD.
