Narrow Head have just come out with a new video for ‘Hard To Swallow’, the fifth track on their past year’s breakthrough release 12th House Rock. Much like the track itself, the video thrives in its messy and convulsive nature, further highlighted by several flashing cuts and trembling camera shots throughout.

According to the band, the video was shot in a secluded part of Texas where they found a neglected house surrounded by nothing but trees and barren land. For the band, the feeling of isolation and eeriness there dwelling instantly turned it into the perfect spot for the video.

In an interview with Stereogum last year, Narrow Head had stated that the track had stemmed from the rawest recording session they had ever done. Guitarist Kora Puckett added that it was recorded in a dark, anxiety-inducing studio. It comes as no surprise then, that the video counterpart for ‘Hard To Swallow’ is able to reproduce a blend of distorted visuals in constant unpredictable motion.

The video concludes with a small homage to Wade Allison who passed away last year. Allison was the guitarist for the Texan hardcore outfit Iron Age, and an influential icon for Narrow Head.

12th House Rock is available here to purchase or stream.
