Isaiah Rashad makes a surprise appearance in Ari Lennox’s sexy new music video

Ari Lennox dropped a new video for “Hoodie” where she stars alongside frequent Dreamville collaborator Isaiah Rashad. She also announced her next album, age/sex/location, is out Sept. 9 via Dreamville and Interscope. On the track, Lennox displays her astounding vocal talent over minimal accompaniment, her soulful delivery cradled by gentle clicks and crisp cymbal hits. Check out the “Hoodie” music video below.

Don’t miss your chance to get an early Andy Warhol piece

Now’s your chance to snag an original from pop-art icon Andy Warhol. Warhol’s nephew is auctioning off 10 separate pieces that the artist created during his time at Carnegie Mellon University from 1945 to 1949. Included among the works is Nosepicker 1, a piece that may very well be Warhol’s first self-portrait. None of the pieces have an estimated price, but according to Richard Polsky, a Warhol historian, “the works will be modestly priced to encourage bidding.” Look here for more information regarding Warhol and his pieces.

Maggie Lindemann is looking for lost love on “self sabotage”

A little more than a month before the drop of her debut album, Maggie Lindemann revealed her newest track, “self sabotage.” The 15-track project, SUCKERPUNCH, drops Sept. 16. “self sabotage” focuses on Lindemann’s inability to accept love when it comes her way. Sometimes it feels like you need to test the limits of the universe’s good will toward you, and Lindemann captures this sentiment perfectly. The track is filled with deep percussion and mournful vocals that convey the pain of regret at the speed of sound. Lindemann also announced two pop-up shows in Los Angeles (Oct. 15) and New York City (Oct. 19). Get your tickets here.

Boyfriend pays homage to No Doubt with their industrial cover of “Just A Girl”

Boyfriend‘s new album, Sugar & Spice, releases Sept. 9. In the meantime, she’s released a cover of No Doubt’s classic track, “Just A Girl.” In the past, Boyfriend’s railed against the idea of sacrificing her authenticity by releasing covers, but the artist says “Just A Girl” “already perfectly says what she wants to say.” Boyfriend’s take on the song cranks the anthem’s sinister, tongue-in-cheek attitude to the next level. Guitar licks are traded for unnatural synths and industrial percussive elements that further highlight the strange contradictions and strict codes that govern being a girl. Boyfriend will set out on a headline tour of her debut album Oct. 1. Check here to find tickets and more information.
