Cold Water Swimmers are back to sooth your soul with their first single of 2021 So Young. The experienced trio of Chris, Carrie and Selina are ready to tackle their debut album this year under the hands of Salford’s answer to Albini, Simon ‘Ding Archer’. Lead singer songwriter and loveable rogue explains…

“It’s released on March 1st on our own DIY or DIE label .. it’s the first new track off ourCold Water Swimmers: So Young – new single and debut album news! album which we hope to release in the summer if gigs are back, so we can support the effort with shows. Without shows it won’t be right. The album is 10 songs including Summer Breeze, Everything We’ve Ever Had We’ve Had to Fight For, Burn Your Idols .. all of them together in one album as they should be. I’ve remixed the tunes or rather tweaked them so that I’m proper happy with them. A record of our first 2-3 years as a band .. as all good debut albums should be .. and yes it’s going to be eponymous”

This for me is one of the ear worms of the year and a fresh blast of happiness in dark times. A love song full of nostalgia, a nod to some of the great 60’s songwriting by the mind of Bridgett who has a vast knowledge of tunes, as you can hear on this masterpiece. If you’ve seen them live you’ll know how tight knit this trio are and they are on their own in regards to not so indie anthems. Carrie comes to the forefront more on this track with her honey sweet vocals complimenting Bridgett’s unique voice. Selina is a class drummer in her own right and they just meld together like they were destined to be in the same band. They get better with every track and I’m surprised they’ve not been picked up by a major label due to the quality of the writing. The fact that Bridgett commands his guitar like a twin brother says everything about Cold Water Swimmers. A unique band in these times that deserve big things and I’m sure their debut album is going to be one of the best releases this year.
