DON BROCO put their lives into perspective in their latest single “One True Prince,” ahead of their upcoming album Amazing Things, out Sept. 17 via SharpTone Records.

The band explore a slower, more emotional side of themselves while grappling with the realization that everything is temporary.

“‘One True Prince’ is about finding comfort in the fact that whatever you’re going through and however bad it may feel, nothing lasts forever,” lead singer Rob Damiani says in a press release. “In these moments, I try to remind myself how insignificant I am. Just one person amongst billions, on a rock orbiting a dying star, in a universe that will eventually implode on itself.”

Damiani’s sentiment of understanding your purpose in the grand scheme of the universe is reflected in the song. The chorus is made up of lyrics saying, “It’s OK that we’re not enough/Spinning ’round a dying sun.”

DON BROCO also shared a visual for “One True Prince,” which follows the video’s protagonist through an unfamiliar environment as they search for something. Both the cinematic visual and the song are a strong reminder to never take your life for granted.

“When my problems are put in perspective,” Damiani says, “it’s about celebrating that despite the little time we have in this world, we are still capable of creating so much beauty and happiness. We’re about to do amazing things.”

The band posted a teaser of the video on social media this week. It includes many references to space and our world, such as an astronaut helmet and a voice-over talking about space travel and the loneliness of it all.

“One True Prince” follows the band’s previous single “Gumshield,” which is the album’s opening song. It centers around the toxicity of social media and the “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” mentality of taking a position on various issues online.

Amazing Things is out Sept. 17 and is the band’s fourth album, following 2018’s Technology.

“One True Prince” lyrics

We’ve been men possessed
You’re not, you’re no one true prince
Regal ego, heaven-sent
Just stardust blowing in the wind
But we’re about to do amazing things

It’s OK that we’re not in love
It’s OK that we’re not enough
Spinning ’round a dying sun
Just like everyone
It’s OK that we’re not in love
It’s OK that we’re not enough
Spinning ’round a dying sun
Just like anyone

We’ve seen supermen
Good or bad all transient
And we’re about to do amazing things

It’s OK that we’re not in love
It’s OK that we’re not enough
Spinning ’round a dying sun
Just like everyone
It’s OK that we’re not in love
It’s OK that I’m not enough
Spinning ’round a dying sun

Ten to one
I like those odds
Yeah 10 to one ‘Cause when I win I win big
What have I become
Ten to one I like those odds
Yeah 10 to one
And when I win I win so big
It rains it pours

It’s OK
Spinning ’round a dying sun
Just like everyone
It’s OK that we’re not in love
It’s OK that we’re not enough
Spinning ’round a dying sun
Just like anyone
