Tuesday, Jan. 19 marks Donald Trump‘s last full day as the President Of The United States. For his final hours, Trump has a lot of business to take care of including reportedly pardoning around 100 people.
Last year, Tiger King star Joe Exotic made it publicly known that he wants Donald Trump to pardon him. Exotic is currently serving 22 years in federal prison for hiring a hitman to kill Carole Baskin and for more than a dozen wildlife violations including the killing of five tigers. Despite the charges, Exotic still claims he is innocent and was wrongly convicted for the murder-for-hire plot against Baskin.
Back in May, Exotic’s legal team put together a case for his pardon that was reportedly sent to the Trump administration. Now, it looks like Exotic’s final chance to be pardoned is here.
According to the Independent, Trump plans to pardon around 100 people on his final day in office. Although the list of those expected to receive these pardons has not been fully revealed, there are reports that Exotic is included.
In fact, Exotic’s legal team is so confident he is going to be pardoned that there is reportedly a limo waiting for him outside of the prison. Private investigator Eric Love, who is leading Exotic’s case, told Metro.co.uk they are confident a pardon will happen.
“We’re going to be celebrating,” Love said. “We have good reason to believe it will come through. We’re confident enough we already have a limousine parked about half a mile from the prison. We are really in action mode right now. I’ve got make-up, wardrobe, the whole unit that will come up. The first thing Joe wants to do, he wants his hair done. He hasn’t had his hair done in two-and-a-half years. That’s the first order of business. Then we’ll probably go and get some pizzas, steak, maybe a McRib.”
Along with the Tiger King star, rapper Lil Wayne could potentially be pardoned on Jan. 19. Lil Wayne has previously supported Donald Trump and is hoping he will be pardoned for his recent weapon charges ahead of his court hearing.
Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump@potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done. 🤙🏾 pic.twitter.com/Q9c5k1yMWf
Back in November, Lil Wayne was charged with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon during a flight on his private jet from California to Florida. Lil Wayne was first convicted of a felony gun charge in New York back in 2009.
Given his past conviction, this latest charge means that, if convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison. Lil Wayne is set to appear in court on Jan. 28 so this reported pardon from Donald Trump would arrive at the perfect time.
Despite Joe Biden‘s inauguration happening on Wednesday, Donald Trump’s troubles are far from over. Last week, the House Of Representatives voted to impeach him for a second time. Now, the case is being moved to the Senate where it will be determined if Trump is guilty of inciting an insurrection stemming from the U.S. Capitol riots.
Everyone is panicking Trump is gonna pardon himself tomorrow while I’m over here wondering if Joe Exotic is on the list…cuz honestly I think we need a sequel to Tiger King in order to get through the rest of 2021 😂 pic.twitter.com/3xh68BBFxs
