Foo Fighters performed for a couple of hours at Wembley Stadium for a special tribute show for the late band drummer Taylor Hawkins on Saturday, September 3. Foo Fighters celebrated Hawkins’ memory and music at the special gig in London. The whole line-up for the show had been leaked early, featuring a reunion of Dave Grohl’s Them Crooked Vultures. While performing 1997 hit ‘Monkey Wrench’, Grohl messed up the performance of the song as he seemingly forgot the lyrics to part of the song. ‘The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts’ also take over LA’s Kia Forum on September 27.

The ‘Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert’ will not be streamed

Eddie Trunk recently stated on his radio show that the LA show is going to be filmed but not streamed. The Foo Fighters website has only ever mentioned streaming for Wembley. The Wembley livestream was a great experience for the fans. The show is set to start at 7pm and that is 10pm eastern. It will take place on a Tuesday night and not a weekend which makes it difficult. It has been noted that it will available to watch later.

The huge line-up for London gig was completed recently with Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich, Blink-182‘s Travis Barker, AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson, Kesha and Dave Grohl‘s daughter Violet.

They were joined by a huge first wave of acts for the London show which included Liam Gallagher and Mark Ronson, alongside Queens Of The Stone Age‘s Josh Homme, Supergrass, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, The Pretenders‘ Chrissie Hynde and many more.

Hawkins, the band’s drummer since 1997, died in Bogotá, Colombia on March 25. He was 50 years old.
