In a bold and empowering move, Greta Van Fleet’s charismatic frontman, Josh Kiszka, has decided to publicly discuss his sexuality for the first time. Using his platform to shed light on the concerning proposed bills in Tennessee that infringe upon LGBTQ+ rights, Kiszka courageously revealed that he has been in a loving, same-sex relationship for the past eight years.

Taking to Instagram, the 27-year-old rocker shared his thoughts on the matter, starting with his concerns about the bills that threaten the freedom to love. He emphasized the importance of speaking his truth not only for himself but also with the hope of inspiring change in hearts, minds, and laws in Tennessee and beyond.

While those close to Kiszka were already aware of his relationship, he felt it was vital to share his truth publicly. In doing so, he joins a powerful chorus of voices advocating for LGBTQ+ rights in Tennessee, the nation, and the world.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support received, Kiszka acknowledged the significant progress made in supporting the LGBTQ+ community. However, he stressed that there is still much work to be done, emphasizing the community’s role as a cultural pillar in championing positivity, acceptance, and equality through various art forms, including music.

In his heartfelt conclusion, Kiszka reminded us of the immense power of love and urged everyone to deepen their understanding of one another, fostering a greater capacity for love as we journey through time.

While Kiszka’s announcement sheds light on his personal journey, it also highlights the pressing issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Tennessee. One such bill, a restrictive drag bill, was recently deemed unconstitutional by U.S. District Court Judge Thomas L. Parker, who recognized its violation of freedom of speech protections. The fight for equality and acceptance continues as advocates challenge discriminatory legislation.

A fan stated: “As a Tennesseean who leans more libertarian and Christian, I have to say that it is not the place of the government, or anyone, to judge others for who they love and how they practice, so long as they aren’t harming others or forcing their lives on others. Josh, WE ARE ALL PROUD OF YOU AND LOVE YOU. These guys are my heroes, and their messages of love and a brotherhood of man are the reason their my favourite group of all time, and also why they are what the world needs right now.”
