Back in January, Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman announced that he needed to step away from the band to get his mental health in check, but he’s officially ended his hiatus.

“Hey everyone, I’m officially back! I want to thank everyone for the love and support while I took some time away to focus on my brain and get healthy for my family, my friends and myself,” Trohman wrote on Instagram on Monday, May 29.

On the same day that Fall Out Boy announced their eighth studio album, So Much (for) Stardust, the band posted a note on social media from Trohman, who said he needed to take a break from Fall Out Boy to better his mental health. “I can tell you unequivocally that burning out is dreadful. Without divulging all the details, I must disclose that my mental health has rapidly deteriorated over the past several years,” he wrote.

Trohman made good on his promise that his absence would only be temporary, and he’s back just in time for Fall Out Boy’s tour with Bring Me The Horizon, Alkaline Trio, Games We Play, and more.
