We are just over a month away from the highly-anticipated release of the Pretty Reckless’ new album Death By Rock And Roll. Over the past few months, the band have offered fans a few tastes of what they can expect from the forthcoming LP.
Now, the Pretty Reckless are back with another preview of Death By Rock And Roll. On Friday, they debuted the powerful rock track “And So It Went.” For the song, the Pretty Reckless called upon Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello.
“And So It Went” brings out the best in both the Pretty Reckless and Morello. Along with Taylor Momsen‘s powerful vocals and the band’s distinct sound, Morello incorporates his own guitar flair fans are so familiar with. During the song’s bridge especially, Morello’s signature guitar riffs bleed into “And So It Went,” making for a refreshing rock collab fans have been waiting for.
“The world has been in such a state of civil unrest,” Momsen says. “‘And So It Went’ basically comes from that vision. As a songwriter, I feel like I’m not here to preach. I use music to observe and communicate what I see around me. This song felt like the perfect storm for Tom Morello to join in and rip the sound waves apart with his guitar. It was more than a pleasure having him add his unique and defining sound to the song.”
Last year, we learned that Death By Rock And Roll features some exciting collaborations. Along with Morello, Soundgarden‘s Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron join the band on “Only Love Can Save Me Now.”
Death By Rock And Roll arrives on Feb. 12, 2021 through Fearless Records and pre-orders are available here.
