The 65th annual Grammy Awards are returning this weekend, on Sunday to be exact – and if you want to know how to watch the Grammys 2023, we have all the information you need – including how to tune in from anywhere in the world and how to watch online for FREE (opens in new tab).

The star-spangled event will be hosted by comedian, actor and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah for the third year running and will take place at the Crypto.com Arena (was the Staples Center) in Los Angeles. With new categories, including best alternative music performance, and a more diverse Grammy membership body, it looks set to be a night for the whole music community to come together and celebrate the best albums, songs and performances from the last 12 months. It promises to be a special night, with the rock, metal and alternative genres well represented.

How to watch Grammys 2023: Live stream

Date: Sunday, February 5
Time: 5pm PT / 8pm ET /1am BST
US live streams: Paramount+ (opens in new tab) / CBS and FuboTV (opens in new tab)
Outside the US: Express VPN (opens in new tab)

2023 is a pretty strong showing for the rock community (although many have denounced the categorisations). In addition to Måneskin and Wet Leg both representing in the best new artist category, this year’s best rock performance category includes The Black Keys, Idles, Ozzy Osbourne and Turnstile, while the best metal performance category includes nods to Ghost, Megadeth, Muse and second appearances for both Ozzy and Turnstile. Make what you will of Turnstile and Muse being classed as ‘metal’.

Up for the best rock song category are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Brandi Carlile, The War On Drugs and, you guessed it, Ozzy and Turnstile.

Ozzy rears his head again in the Best Rock Album category, alongside Machine Gun Kelly, Idles and more. Ozzy is said to be “overwhelmed” at this year’s noms.

New for 2023 is a best alternative music performance category, which includes nominations for Wet Leg and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

You can see the full details of the rock, metal and alternative categories below, and all 91 categories and nominees on the official Grammy Awards 2023 (opens in new tab) website.

Live performances from the rock and metal leagues are thin on the ground this year, but alternative country star Brandi Carlile will take to the Grammy stage on the night and there’s rumours of a Fall Out Boy/Weezer tribute to the Beach Boys

How to watch the Grammys live in the US

The entire Grammy 2023 award ceremony will be streamed live through a number of cable channels across the US. Paramount+ (opens in new tab) subscribers (formerly CBS All-Access) will be able to watch the evening unfold on their smartphone, tablet, computer or smart TV, either using the Paramount+ app or by logging on to the Paramount+ website.

Right now, you can grab a free 7-day trial to Paramount+ (opens in new tab) and if you decide to keep your subscription going after that (although we won’t tell a soul if you choose to cancel your trial straight after you’ve watched the Grammys), plans start at just $4.99 a month. You can also catch up on the big night afterwards using the Paramount+ on-demand service.

FuboTV (opens in new tab) will also be showing the Grammy Awards 2023 and has a free trial up for grabs right now.

Without cable, you’ll be able to tune into the red carpet Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony prior to the big night on the official Grammy website (opens in new tab) and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel (opens in new tab).

Of course, if you do have cable, you can watch the Grammys on CBS.

How to watch the Grammys outside the US

Unfortunately, if you live outside the US or you’re currently outside the country on holiday, you won’t have immediate access to the Grammy Awards 2023, although you’ll still be able to watch the pre-ceremony through the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel (opens in new tab)

To watch the Grammys live on Sunday, you’ll need to get a VPN which will enable you to change your current IP address to the one you use back home. It’s not as fiddly as you might think – you can get set up in a matter of minutes – and we recommend using a service like ExpressVPN (opens in new tab).

All you need to do is click on the link above, download and install the VPN. Open it up on your device – smartphone, tablet or laptop – click on a server location, pick the stream and you’ll be watching tonight’s music fest in no time! ExpressVPN also offer a 30-day money back guarantee AND an extra three months free if you sign up for a year. We told you we’d show you how to watch the Grammys for free!
