2021 has already been a big year for I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME and their hit single “Leave Me Alone.”

Now, the duo are checking another milestone off of their list. This week, iDKHOW made their late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where they performed “Leave Me Alone.”

Last summer, iDKHOW unleashed the single “Leave Me Alone” ahead of the release of their debut full-length Razzmatazz. Since then, iDKHOW have continued to have an impressive ride with the groovy new song.

Earlier this month, the track hit No.1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. This feat marks their first-ever top placing on any Billboard chart.

Shortly following the news, Dallon Weekes gave a special thanks to fans and anyone who has been spinning the song and their new album.

“Thank you, to everyone who has been spinning this song, and giving our band a chance. It’s not an ideal time to be releasing new music into the world. Even so, without being able to play a single show, y’all made this happen! It’s pretty unthinkable. Thank you!”

Now, iDKHOW have achieved another milestone with “Leave Me Alone.” This week, the duo made their late-night TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where they performed the song. The excitement surrounding the performance eventually led to#IDKHOWONJIMMYKIMMEL to start trending on Twitter in the United States.

As well, Weekes noticed a very cool coincidence between iDKHOW’s late-night debut and when he was last on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Panic! At The Disco.

“I just learned that five years ago today, I was performing on @JimmyKimmelLive with Panic. And tonight I’m on @JimmyKimmelLive with my own band. What the!?”

Earlier this week, iDKHOW debuted a beautiful piano rendition of “Leave Me Alone.” The stripped-down ballad truly transforms the track into something completely new. Weekes exclusively told Alternative Press that the time spent at home these past few months caused him to revisit some of the songs on Razzmatazz. As a result, he eventually created this new “Leave Me Alone” arrangement.

“Since we haven’t been able to tour, I’ve had a chance to mess around with some of the songs we recorded for Razzmatazz,” he says. “In a normal world, songs will evolve and develop tiny changes night by night when you’re on the road. Instead of that, it’s been mostly playing the songs stripped down for Zoom interviews and Instagram live performances that made me want to try an alternate version. Long story short, I guess it was boredom!”

For Weekes, he envisions this piano ballad of “Leave Me Alone” eventually slipping into iDKHOW’s live sets when they finally return.

“It was a lot of fun actually,” he says. “To be able to play around with the melody this way. I feel like there is a lot from this version that will drift over into the proper live version of the song when we start playing shows again, God willing.”
