Lancashire Bombers blast out with a record of classic wild garage.

An air raid siren blast announces the arrival of the new record from Lancashire Bombers as they rocket out of the traps with the album title track. It careers along through crunching guitars, wailing vocals, a whipped out short sharp solo, all coming together in that classic 60’s Back From The Grave sound. A great opening that slides into the grooving I’m Gonna Love You. The band’s pedigree in some of the great underground garage bands of the last decade is on show perfectly. They know their chops and cook them up till they sizzle with crackling heat.

She Is The Girl is a great dose of Milkshakes-style Medway garage beat over a quick jiving beat, harmonica screeching out in the breaks. It’s in the pure danceable grooves that they really hit the mark, especially on the following She Left Me, which is a definite highlight. It’s all Hamburg Beatles rock ‘n’ roll bashing out that they return to again on the wonderful Larry Williams’ Slow Down, yeah, the same one that the Fab Four did on their Long Tall Sally EP. The lyrics across much of the record are classic garage-style boy-meets-girl jilted and looking for love. It never dates, the topic or the style. Just as I said about the last Wylde Tryfles album, the garage bands of today continue to mine the treasures of a sound that has been around for sixty years, refining and polishing the original nuggets to uncover more and more gems.

Manos De Piedra whips frenzied guitars around and solid rhythm while I Left Her Crying, the final full track of the album, pounds along with a real stomping energy before Conozco Una Chica, an instrumental of the swooning I Know a Girl that drops mid-album, slides the record to a close.  A bomber takes flight into the distance as Outro, signalling that the band have done what they came here for. A blast of a garage record.
