Lil Uzi Vert just revealed the real story behind that diamond face implant

In case you somehow haven’t heard, rapper Lil Uzi Vert recently got a $24 million pink diamond surgically implanted in his forehead.

Now, the rapper has further elaborated on the real story behind his latest body modification.

It’s definitely been an interesting February for Lil Uzi Vert. After unveiling his multi-million dollar face implant to the world, he quickly received the meme treatment. As it turns out, a lot of people on the internet think he now resembles Marvel‘s Vision.

Just days later, Lil Uzi Vert revealed that he could actually die from the implant. Soon after, however, the jeweler behind the now-viral diamond explained whether or not the implant is actually safe.

Then, Lil Uzi Vert seemingly confirmed he plans to get another implant in his head – Neuralink‘s brain chip. Lil Uzi Vert and Grimes recently unveiled their plans to get Elon Musk‘s brain chip that can stream music among other things.

Earlier this month, we learned that Elon Musk’s company is planning to start implanting these computer chips into actual human brains later this year. This is, of course, after the company had successful trials on animals.

This week, Lil Uzi Vert then caught the internet’s attention for a whole new reason. He recently shared that Jay-Z has compared him to Prince. Of course, the comparison led to a slew of reactions online.

Now, it looks like Lil Uzi Vert is back to talking about his $24 million pink diamond. The rapper previously revealed he’s been saving up for the diamond since 2017. However, once he held the diamond for the first time, he knew making it into a piece of jewelry just wouldn’t work. Why? Well, apparently Lil Uzi Vert has a reputation for losing things. The concept of surgically implanting it in his body meant he was less likely to lose the multi-million dollar diamond.

“I’m Lil Uzi,” he tells Fat Joe in a new interview. “I’m turnt up. So $24 million on a ring is the stupidest idea because I’m gonna look down and that ring ain’t gon’ be there. I know me. I wake up in odd places and different sceneries.”

Lil Uzi Vert has experience with microdermal piercings and suggested placing the diamond in several different places on his face. Due to the size and weight of the diamond, he eventually settled on his forehead. However, various people argued with him about the idea.

“Don’t think it was just a ‘come on, let’s go get his money,’” he said. “No, bro, they argued me down. It’s almost insane to the average person, or to any person.”
