PVRIS are back and larger than life on their nightclub-ready new single, “GODDESS,” out via Hopeless Records. The track follows up last year’s pair of singles, “ANIMAL” and “ANYWHERE BUT HERE,” which dropped in late October.

The pop-rock act’s latest is centered around driving dance rhythms, industrial bass lines, and abstract guitar riffs in the vein of arena-rock legends Muse, making for a pulsating and assertive track. On the vocals, frontwoman Lynn Gunn fuses everything from glitchy auto-tuned verses to rapid-fire rap cadences, all before launching into intoxicating R&B-inflected vocal runs.

In a press release, Gunn says the song is “a celebration of femininity, all shapes and forms, and a cathartic, guttural scream at the same time,” which comes through on the track’s call-to-arms lyricism. Beyond that, “GODDESS” feels like PVRIS’ opportunity for a well-deserved flex after years of success and making powerful, genre-bending music that continues to influence the next generation of artists.

With new music on the way, PVRIS is also gearing up for a busy year on the road. They’re currently touring across Europe, and North American fans will be able to catch them on every date of the recently announced 2023 Sad Summer Festival this summer.
