Listen To This! Drew Five’s Cinematic Journey Beyond The Skies.

Drew Five is one half of electro-punk duo Feral Five. Drew’s solo work has a cinematic scope. Lights In The Expanse Of The Sky is Drew’s third solo single.

Lights In The Expanse Of The Sky takes the listener on a journey beyond the solar system. As the tremulous voices break through the static, we begin floating on a deep, yet gentle backbeat. After leaving the confines of our own solar system, the craft of our imagination begins its voyage past the Oort Cloud and into the great unknown. Produced on the banks of the River Medway in England, this instrumental piece has a filmic scope that would not be out of place in a Christopher Nolan epic. This is a companion piece to Drew’s track Endless Ocean, which bid farewell to 2020 and all that was. Lights In The Expanse Of The Sky celebrates all that can be.

As a composer, Drew has scored for independent movies and written for installations and dance. He has performed at Berlin’s Funkhaus on bass and electronics with Jan Bang (Honore, Sylvian, Henriksen), Grammy Award-winning engineer and violinist Simon Goff (Hildur Guðnadóttir – Chernobyl) and Mercury nominee Eska. He has also performed with Lou Edmunds (Public Image Limited) and at Martyn Ware’s (Heaven 17) Everything You Can Imagine Is Real event at London’s National Portrait Gallery.

Drew’s ‘Rijeka Airport sound installation’ concept was nominated for a prize by the Croatian Ministry of Culture. His band, Feral Five, has been championed on BBC6 Music by Gideon Coe and Steve Lamacq and by John Kennedy on Radio X. Eddie Temple-Morris (Soho Radio, Virgin), Tom Ravenscroft and Radcliffe & Maconie have also spun their tunes. Drew’s remixes for other artists have appeared on Tom Robinson’s Mixtape.
