Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Neck Deep have pushed back their headlining U.K. and Ireland tour again.

This week, the band announced the rescheduled U.K. and Ireland tour dates for their All Distortions Are Intentional headlining tour, which is now happening in 2022.

Back in July, Neck Deep kicked off their new era with their latest album All Distortions Are Intentional. The band were originally set to hit the road with nothing, nowhere. and Higher Power supporting their headlining tour in the U.K. in September 2020. However, last year didn’t exactly go as planned for the band.

Eventually, the tour was moved from September to this spring amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The string of shows was set to start in Birmingham on March 31 and end in Leeds, England on April 10. Now, the All Distortions Are Intentional tour has been rescheduled once again.

This week, Neck Deep confirmed their run of U.K. and Ireland shows is now happening in January 2022. The nine-date tour kicks off Jan. 11 in Birmingham, England. This time around, however, Neck Deep have added a new show in Dublin, Ireland at the Olympia Theatre on Jan. 21. All already-purchased tickets will remain valid for these new tour dates. Meanwhile, tickets for the Dublin show go on sale this Wednesday, March 10.

“Unfortunately, as many people might have guessed, we have no choice but to move our U.K. tour once again,” the band say in a statement. “Hopefully, this will be the last time we have to do this but it will be worth the wait. New date added [in] Dublin [on] Jan. 21, 2022. Tickets are available on Wednesday. U.K. tickets available now. All purchased tickets still remain valid.”

So far, there’s no word yet if Neck Deep’s fall North American tour dates may also be rescheduled again. As it stands, the tour is set to start on Nov. 4 in Nashville. Neck Deep have already pushed back their European tour dates. Now, their run of shows in Europe begins on June 7 in Antwerp, Belgium and ends on June 28 in Paris, France.

Before the release of All Distortions Are Intentional, frontman Ben Barlow exclusively told Alternative Press that Neck Deep’s headlining tour will be unlike anything they have done before.

“Anytime we start a new tour, the stage production is a big part of the show,” Barlow says. “It requires a lot of time and planning, which is what we’re doing right now. We’re definitely looking to do some things we’ve never done before and make sure the new album is met with new visuals across every element of the band.”

Neck Deep’s latest tour postponement arrives just a few weeks after England announced its plans to ease out of coronavirus lockdown restrictions. At the end of February, Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled the country’s four-step plan to eliminate restrictions this year.

If all goes according to plan, the country could be completely out of lockdown by late June. Of course, this is all dependent on keeping COVID-19 cases low and continuing the rollout of vaccinations.

Since England’s announcement, a lot has happened. Reading & Leeds Festival confirmed it is still happening this August. In fact, after England’s COVID-19 restriction plans were announced, Reading Festival completely sold out with Leeds Festival not too far behind. However, the Reading Borough Council says “nothing has been agreed” in regards to the festival happening this year.

As well, Slam Dunk also confirmed its 2021 dates are being rescheduled for this fall. Meanwhile, Glastonbury has already announced it will no longer be happening in 2021.

Despite these changes in the U.K., things are still looking rather different in the United States. This month, concert venues in Mississippi and Texas are allowed to reopen at full-capacity as both states lift restrictions and end mask mandates. The states’ governors went ahead with these plans despite warnings from public health officials.
