After doing the first few “At The Counter” paintings, I knew I’d be adding work that refers to the 1960 lunch-counter sit-ins. Over on my artist site, I’ve written about that, sequential art, clowns and astronauts racing horses! Can making art about events, concepts and emotions be called bearing witness? I think it can.
