Ozzy Osbourne and Post Malone are stirring up a bit of trouble in their animated new video for “It’s A Raid.” The song originally appears on Osbourne’s 2020 album Ordinary Man.
The “It’s A Raid” video officially marks the final single off of Ordinary Man as Osbourne continues work on his next album.

Over the past few years, Ozzy Osbourne and Post Malone have teamed up for not one, but two collaborations – “It’s A Raid” and “Take What You Want” with Travis Scott. Now, fans are finally getting to see Osbourne and Posty in action again in their animated new video for “It’s A Raid.” Together, the duo finds themselves at the center of a wild, and pretty trippy, police chase that ends in an incredibly tense standoff.
For Post Malone fans, this is the second time this week they’ve seen the rapper get animated. On Thursday, Posty was transformed into the ultimate Pokémon trainer in a teaser for his headlining Pokémon Day concert spot. However, the animated Post Malone caught the internet’s attention for all of the wrong reasons.

“A couple of years ago I didn’t even know who Post Malone was,” Ozzy says. “Since then we’ve worked together on two studio tracks and have performed together twice. Understandably COVID-19 made it difficult to get together to shoot a music video for ‘It’s A Raid.’ So, we opted for this wildly imagined animated video for the final single from the Ordinary Man album.”
As it turns out, “It’s A Raid” is inspired by an encounter Black Sabbath had with the police back in 1972.
“I’m sitting there, great, Bel Air, sun shining, coke at hand, booze,” he told SiriusXM. “I’m thinking, ‘Fuck me, I’ve made it here!’ I am sitting in this house and it’s fuckin’ boiling hot. I see these buttons on the wall and I go, ‘Oh, must be the air conditioning.’ I pressed the fuckin’ button, and [in] about five minutes, four or five cop cars come screaming down the drive. I’m shouting, ‘It’s a fuckin’ raiiiiid!’”

Osbourne later went on to tell Rolling Stone that producer Andrew Watt pushed Osbourne to write a song about the incident.
“Andrew thought it was a funny story and said, ‘We’ve got to write a song about it,’” Osbourne said. “We were just jamming around, like, ‘It’s a raaaaaaid!’”
Currently, Osbourne is back in the studio with Watt working on his Ordinary Man follow-up. This week, he shared that he “can’t wait to for everyone to hear my new music.”
Back in October, Osbourne gave an update on how writing and recording for the album are going.

“I’m doing another record right now,” he told Radio.com. “I just started to work with Andrew again. It’s what gets me up in the morning, and it’s what I’m here to do. It saved my life, doing that last album. [It’s better than] sitting on my ass all day waiting for the fucking pandemic to be over. And then you go, ‘Oh, yeah, I am a rock and roller. I’d better do an album.’ You’ve got all the fucking time in the world to make the best album possible.”
Then, in December, Watt revealed that some familiar rock faces are collaborating with Osbourne on the new record – Metallica‘s Robert Trujillo, Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins and the Red Chili Peppers‘ Chad Smith. At the time of the interview, Watt also said they were “about halfway through” recording the new LP.

“There’s a bunch of people involved,” Watt told Guitar World. “I can’t say for sure until the end, but I started doing a bunch of basic tracks with Chad and Robert Trujillo, who used to play in Ozzy’s band. And Taylor Hawkins also came in and played a bunch on the record as well. Which adds a different flair – it kind of harkened back to Ozzy’s ’80s era, in a great way. And I think it’s so cool for a rock fan to be able to listen to half an album with Chad Smith on drums. And then you flip it over and you get to hear Taylor Hawkins.”
Not so coincidentally, Andrew Watt celebrated his birthday with quite a few of these musicians. In October, the producer turned 30th and had a jam session with Post Malone, Jane’s Addiction‘s Chris Chaney, Trujillo, Hawkins and Smith.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, Watt explained that all safety precautions are being taken in the studio.
“But, you know, it’s been hard with COVID and everything to keep him safe,” Watt said. “We all test every day before we work and it’s just me, Ozzy and my engineer.”
