PAUL CANDIFLP BLACKWOOD  (born Paul Hambleton)
10th April 1972 – 26th December 2020

The funeral of much-loved musician & artist Paul is being held today Thursday 21 January 2021.

So much more than the guitarist in Anarchistwood, the person born Paul Hambleton. reinvented himself to become Candiflp Blackwood – with his soulmate Frank Cutter aka Funkcutter (born Emma) – they had numerous creative outlets and projects prior to and in addition to the band Anarchistwood.

From all the accounts I have heard Paul was a lovely man, generous with his time helping others in the music scenes he operated in.

Frank tells his life-story and pays tribute to him in this wonderful detailed piece of writing.

From Liverpool to Dewsbury to London: From bass-playing to being a VJ, to guitar-playing, film-making and art work. it’s the story of an extraordinary life in pursuit of art and freedom of expression. Frank describes him as a wonderfully talented, kind, generous, funny and extremist psychonaut. Husband, wife, father, grandthing, pagan, egalitarian, shaman and artist. All these things and much more…

There is a ‘Much-Loved’ site here which friends are invited to contribute to and there was a sympathetic news report published here.

There is nothing I, on behalf of LTW, can add, apart from to send Frank, Luka, all of Pauls children and mum all our love and respect for the man who brought a lot of joy to us through his art and valued friendship to those who knew him.

He was a one-off.  A unique life.  He will not be forgotten.
