More on Meet Me @ The Altar
Meet Me @ The Altar had quite the breakout year in 2020. The pop-punk outfit received much-deserved recognition in June upon being backed by Halsey‘s Black Creators Fund. Since then, they’ve signed to Fueled By Ramen and even ranked among Wendy‘s favorite groups.
Heavily influenced by the likes of early scene favorites including Paramore and Panic! At The Disco, the band boasts sounds and lyrics highly reminiscent of the 2000s era. Despite only releasing two songs this year, the band accumulated over a million streams on Spotify.
“We’re all very ambitious people, and we’ve all grown up around music and are absolutely in love with it,” vocalist Edith Johnson explained in a recent interview with Alternative Press, “I can speak for all of us—there is literally nothing that we’d rather be doing.”
The band has recently teased studio work, leaving fans optimistic that their first full-length album may be coming next year. In the meantime, be sure to check out their 2020 singles, “Garden” and “May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor.”
