‘Rugrats’ and ‘Fairly OddParents’ among the reboots heading to Paramount+

It looks like Paramount+ is about to change the streaming platform game. This week, ViacomCBS confirmed that the new streaming service will be home to over 30,000 episodes and 2,500 movie titles.

Along with that Spongebob SquarePants reboot, Paramount+ is also reviving Rugrats and The Fairly OddParents for two new reboots. As well, Beavis and Butt-Head are making a return for a brand new film. Foo Fighters‘ Dave Grohl even has his own new series in the works exclusively for the streaming platform.

If you weren’t planning on getting Paramount+, you may want to think again. ViacomCBS’ new streaming platform is shaping up to be a major streaming service contender when it launches on Mar. 4.

To start, various films will hit Paramount+ after a 45-day theatrical window including Mission: Impossible 7, A Quiet Place Part II and PAW Patrol: The Movie. As well, that SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff Kamp Koral will be available to watch exclusively on Paramount+. According to ViacomCBS, Kamp Koral follows a 10-year-old SpongeBob and his friends at a sleep-away camp.

Along with this, The Fairly OddParents and Rugrats are getting reboots on the streaming platform. According to Deadline, the Rugrats revival will feature that iconic group of babies we all grew up with in the ’90s. As well, the CG animated series will include the voice cast from the original Nickelodeon show. Meanwhile, the Fairly OddParents is getting a live-action remake.

If you were hoping for new adventures with Beavis and Butt-Head, you’re in luck. Creator Mike Judge is bringing back those iconic slacker teens for a new still-to-be-titled film that will help kick off the upcoming new TV series.

Paramount+ will also have plenty of content for all of you music fans out there. Along with bringing back MTV‘s iconic Unplugged, Dave Grohl also has a show in the works called From Cradle To Stage. The six-part unscripted TV show is inspired by Grohl’s mother Virginia Hanlon Grohl.

The project offers a dynamic exploration of the relationships between musicians and their moms. Each episode will feature a famous performer and their mother. As well, Dave Grohl is directing the entire series.

“We are thrilled to re-invent some of our most storied and impactful music franchises, including Behind the Music and Yo! MTV Raps, for Paramount+,” ViacomCBS exec Bruce Gilmer told Deadline. “We will partner with some of the biggest names across the music industry to bring exclusive and unique content to the platform, such as Dave Grohl’s Cradle to Stage based on his mom’s critically-acclaimed book, and many more to come.”

Paramount+ officially launches on Mar. 4 and will cost $4.99 a month for an ad-supported subscription and $9.99 per month for a premium ad-free experience. The full list of reboots and shows hitting Paramount+ is available to view here.
