Last week, we learned that twenty one pilots‘ never-ending “Level Of Concern” video has officially come to an end. However, Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph managed to break the Guinness World Record for the longest-ever music video before pulling the plug on the livestream.

Now, it looks like some fans are convinced a minor detail about the video’s ending is actually a cryptic clue about new music.

Following the release of “Level Of Concern” in April, twenty one pilots teamed up with their fanbase to create a never-ending video for the single. Powered by the video software Imposium, the visual refreshed every 3 minutes and 40 seconds with new fan clips in real-time. twenty one pilots developed the concept with award-winning director Jason Zada.

Since it went live in June, fans submitted their own “Level Of Concern” related content. From covers to dance routines and everything in between, the fans kept the never-ending video going for nearly six months.

However, last week, we found out that the “Level Of Concern” video wasn’t actually never-ending after all. twenty one pilots shared a hilarious video confirming that the continuous visual is officially done streaming. In the end, the video managed to run for approximately 4,264 hours after 178 days.

Some fans, however, think the 178 days the “Level Of Concern” video ran for is significant. Of course, almost everything in the twenty one pilots fandom has a meaning. As we’ve seen before, Dun and Joseph love to throw cryptic clues at fans when it comes to their music.

From a lengthy scavenger hunt that led to the release of “Level Of Concern” to the various details surrounding Dema, twenty one pilots fans leave no stone unturned. So, naturally, when twenty one pilots ended the continuous video at 178 days, fans quickly got to theorizing.

A lot of listeners took to Reddit to share their ideas on what 178 may signify. Some believe it could mean new twenty one pilots music is arriving on Aug. 17, 2021 (8/17). Meanwhile, others think we could hear new music on June 22, 2021 which is 178 days after the video originally ended.

Another theory is that since the livestream began on June 21 (6/21) and ended up Dec. 16 (12/16), those dates are particularly significant. A few fans theorize that new music or even a new album could arrive on Jan. 26, 2021 (1/26) or Feb. 16, 2021 (2/16), two dates that include the numbers 1, 2 and 6.

Regardless of what fans are currently theorizing, most agree that twenty one pilots purposely ended the livestream after 178 days. So, for many, it’s clear that 178 is a cryptic clue pertaining to some upcoming news.
