the tearawaysLondon’s Dirty Water Records have just announced that they have signed a five-year deal with The Tearaways.

Featuring Clem Burke from Blonde on drums, The Tearaways’s new single, the first taste of their new album, due out next year on Dirty Water Records after sigining a five-year deal with the London-based label, is an ode to three of the greatest drummers every to sit behind a kit: Charlie, Keith and Ringo.

Alongside Burke, the band features the dual lead singers of bassist John “Fin” Finseth and rhythm guitarist Greg Brallier, lead guitar David Hekhouse. That may be the core of the group, but the album also guests, from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Benmont Tench on keyboards, and Steven McCarthy (The Jayhawks, The Long Ryders) on pedal steel guitar.

The song is a pure and poundind powerpop rocker and a great taste of the album to come. Paul Machester of Dirty Water Records is hoping that their involvement with the band will get them to more ears, with the band previously self-releasing all their material. With the pedigree on board, it really should. As well as those playing on the album, it has been produced by Ed Stasium, whose hands have been involved in albums by The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Smithereens, The Hoodoo Gurus, MOtorhead, and Reverend Horton Heat.

The Tearaways’ new album, And For Our Next Trick, is set for release on 1st April, 2023 on Dirty Water Records. Check out the video for Charlie, Keith and Ringo below.
