This new leak may have just revealed the entire ‘Spider-Man 3’ plot

It looks like there’s even more speculation and rumors surrounding Spider-Man 3 to unpack.

This week, a new leak has seemingly revealed the plot and official title for Spider-Man 3. As well, Zendaya may have finally confirmed that this familiar face is really returning for the new Marvel film.

Before we get to the leak, here’s a brief overview of what has been confirmed and speculated so far. Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange is taking on a mentor role for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3. As well, rumors are swirling that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are returning for the project, but both Sony and Marvel have avoided confirming these rumors so far.

However, according to this new leak on 4chan, a lot of what has been speculated so far may be true after all. According to the leak, Spider-Man 3, which is rumored to be called Spider-Man: Homeworlds, continues just after that Far From Home cliffhanger. Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker will allegedly try to convince the world he isn’t actually Spider-Man. As well, he also has to face the aftermath of J. Jonah Jameson saying that Parker killed Mysterio.

The leak also says that a slew of familiar faces from past Spider-Man films will appear in Spider-Man 3. Yes, that includes Maguire and Garfield. Early on in the movie, Doctor Strange will allegedly recruit Spider-Man for a special task following the aftermath of WandaVision where Scarlet Witch “cracked open” the multiverse. As a result, Holland will unite with Garfield and Maguire.

A lot of Spider-Man 3 will be centered around Peter Parker searching for the Benefactor, the special task given by Doctor Strange. The leak states that Willem Dafoe will play the MCU’s Norman Osborn in the film and eventually end up being the Benefactor. Apparently, the Benefactor is assembling universe-displaced supervillains.

Along with Maguire and Garfield, Holland will face a slew of other familiar faces in the new film. Alfred Molina‘s Doctor Octopus, who is already rumored to appear, and Jamie Foxx‘s Electro, who has been confirmed, all appear in Spider-Man 3. However, the leak goes on to say that these characters may not be quite the same as we originally remember them.

Earlier this week, Zendaya seemingly confirmed that Molina is reprising his Doctor Octopus role in the film.

Similarly, the leak says Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman, Michael Mando’s Scorpion, Michael Keaton‘s Vulture and Dane DeHaan‘s Green Goblin also have cameos in the film. The leak also reveals that Jake Gyllenhaal‘s Mysterio will be back in the new movie, but only in flashbacks, as well as Tom Hardy’s Venom and Jared Leto’s Morbius.

Peter Parker will reportedly go up against these villains in the third act of the film. Alongside Garfield and Maguire, the three Spider-Mans will work together to try and defeat all of the villains from their past.

Additionally, Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone are allegedly making cameos in the movie. Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch will be Doctor Strange’s new apprentice and also has brief airtime in Spider-Man 3.

The leak also says that both Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man 4 are filming back to back. However, Marvel has yet to announce the fourth film. Currently, Spider-Man 3 is slated to arrive on Dec. 17, 2021 as long as the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t cause any delays.
