Of course, the nominations have caused quite a stir online. In particular, a lot of people are wondering why actors such as Zendaya, who won anEmmylast year, are missing from the list.
Clearly, due to the COVID-19 crisis, a lot of films weren’t released last year. However, movie and television buffs were still treated to plenty of content in 2020. This year’s Golden Globes nominations list is pretty stacked with shows such as The Crown, Schitt’s Creek andRyan Murphy‘s Ratched earning nominations. In fact, Netflixis dominating the 2021 awards show with a staggering 42 nominations.
Among the nominated this year are Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The duo is nominated twice in the Best Original Score category for their work on Disney‘s Soul and Netflix’s Mank. Last year, Reznor and Ross snagged an Emmy award for their score forWatchmen.
Despite the long list of nominations, the internet has a lot of thoughts about the individuals who are missing from the list. In particular, Euphoriafans are wondering why Zendaya wasn’t nominated for her portrayal as struggling drug addict Rue.
This is the second year Zendaya is missing from the nominations list despite winning an Emmy for her Euphoria role last year. The Spider-Manactress has also been receiving Oscar buzz for her acting in Netflix’s Malcolm & Marie. So, naturally, fans are very confused.
the golden globes not giving zendaya any nominations 2 years in a row isn’t sitting right with me
