You can spend the night in the ‘Silence Of The Lambs’ house—here’s how

It looks like The Silence Of The Lambs fans can soon spend the night in Buffalo Bill‘s infamous house from the 1991 film.

This week, news broke that the Pennsylvanian property has been sold. However, its new owner isn’t the only one who will be allowed to stay the night.

For those of you that need a little refresher, Buffalo Bill was one of the main antagonists in The Silence Of The Lambs. Portrayed by actor Ted Levine, Buffalo Bill was a serial killer who murdered overweight women and skinned them to make a “woman suit” for himself.

Late last year, the infamous house was put up for sale in the Fayette County community of Layton, Pennsylvania. Previously, the property was sold in 2016 for $195,000 to an owner who was a fan of The Silence Of The Lambs.

Now, it looks like the home has officially been sold again and is being turned into a bed and breakfast. Yes, that’s right. The Silence Of The Lambs fans will soon have the opportunity to spend the night in Buffalo Bill’s house.

According to TMZ, theatrical art director Chris Rowan brought the house for around $300,000 and is turning it into a bed and breakfast. Rowan plans to give the 4-bedroom property a makeover while keeping its creepy film history intact. At this time, it’s unknown when the bed and breakfast plan to open its doors.

Back in September, a virtual tour of Buffalo Bill’s home was released. The tour features footage of the entire property including the front yard, kitchen and yes, even the eerie basement. The basement may not actually have the well that’s seen in the film, but it does have that creepy old cold cellar we all remember.

As it turns out, the home has a lot of its original decor from the 1990s and has a history that dates back even further than the Academy Award-winning movie. The house was built in 1910 next to land that was once owned by George Washington.

The 1991 film is based on the 1988 novel by Thomas Harris. The movie, which stars Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, went on to win numerous awards including five Oscars and two BAFTAs.
