Back in 2016, Beartooth released their second album Aggressive. The LP includes the tracks “Hatred,” “Aggressive” and “Burnout,” making it a fan-favorite to this day. Earlier this week, Beartooth decided to celebrate the album with a special new release. The band dropped limited edition vinyl of all of their past albums. However, the Aggressive vinyl was different from the rest.

For the vinyl pressing, Caleb Shomo remastered and remixed the 2016 album. Only 500 copies of the Aggressive vinyl were available so, of course, it sold out almost instantly. Some fans were also able to get their hands on a gold repressing of Disgusting and a new variant of the deluxe edition of Disease. Their 2013 EP Sick was also released on vinyl for the first time ever.

Of course, a lot of fans were disappointed they weren’t able to snag the Aggressive remixed and remastered vinyl. So, Beartooth have decided to officially release the entire vinyl on streaming platforms. On Dec. 17, the band confirmed that the limited edition release can now be streamed on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

“SURPRISE! Due to the overwhelming demand from vinyl sales of the Remixed and Remastered version of Aggressive done by @CalebShomo himself, you can now stream the album across @Spotify, @AppleMusic, and @amazonmusic!”

Last month, Shomo confirmed that Beartooth’s new album is officially done. Just a few weeks prior to the news, Beartooth shared a clip of an unreleased track and revealed the new LP is arriving sometime in 2021.

Earlier this year, Shomo also said in an interview with Blabbermouth that their new music will be their heaviest to date.

This one is just jacked,” he said. “Everything is amped up to 11. I am so, so pumped. Obviously, this is what you wanna think when you’re making a record, but damn, this is the best one yet. Not even close. This is the heaviest record. This is my best work – the most proud I’ve been of these songs. It’s wild. It’s some heavy-duty shit.”

The musician went on to say “if Disease was AC/DC, this record is Black Sabbath.” Still, he confirms fans will hear all the elements of their music they’ve come to expect.

“It’s a lot more influenced in dark stoner rock, heavy power groove,” Shomo said. “Obviously, there’s still a lot of fast [stuff] and some punk rock and all that, but I’ve really been exploring with the stoner-metal side of guitars and guitar tones and doing different tunings and lots of fuzz and chaos and layering the fuck out of my guitar tracks.”

An official release date for Beartooth’s new album has not been revealed. However, you can stream their new Aggressive remixes below.
