A new dream-laced single has emerged from the Netherlands via Peru: Resplandor announces the release of “Blue”, the second offering from the upcoming album Tristeza to be released on the Automatic label.

The dreamy, expansive track from the Peruvian outfit is a glorious sonic experience, with ethereal female vocals soaring over a whirling shoegaze kaleidoscope. The gorgeous song is a gossamer daydream kissed by clouds drifting through a waning summer sky, drawing from Slowdive by way of Cocteau Twins – with a splash of Chromatics and the whirring energy of Lightning Seeds for good measure.

The single and the new album were, in fact, produced and mixed by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), who also produced and mixed his previous album Pleamar, and mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive).

Listen to the track below:

During 2018-2019, Resplandor played around the globe, appearing onstage with the likes of Slowdive, MGMT, The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, The House of Love, and Warpaint.

In February 2020, Saint Marie Records, reissued Pleamar in a double vinyl edition, and in June they released the song Bocanada (Faraway Whispers From The Sea), also mastered by Simon Scott.
