Broken Links are making a proper comeback with their highly anticipated brand new material. For those who somehow missed this interesting band, Broken Links are an English trio based in Southampton, which fuses various elements to achieve the desired sound. Since their formation, the trio released an impressive amount of recordings such as Resisting Movement And The Almost Advisory CD EP, The Fine Line Between Choice/Decay CD EP, Prototypes::Cause+Effect CD EP, Disasters: Ways To Leave A Scene CD, and Divide / Restore CD. After a six-years-long break from recording/publishing, Broken Links are back with their most advanced material, named the Conflict::States. The longevous pauses like these are usually creating a creative void in the works of some bands, but not in Broken Links headquarters. Quite the contrary, these guys evolved during this time, and they’re coming back better than ever.

Conflict::States represents their third full-length material that carries twelve profoundly detailed compositions. The group explores several complementary genres to illustrate the current state of modern society. You may stumble upon the elements of goth rock, post-punk, post-grunge, alternative rock, indie rock, new wave, and darkwave. Broken Links are embracing industrial aesthetics since their inception, and this material makes not exceptions either. You may notice a strong resemblance with renowned groups such as Killing Joke, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Manic Street Preachers, and many others who flirted with industrial electronics during their careers. However, Broken Links are leaning towards much heavier, darker, detailed sound than the abovementioned groups.

The group solely relies upon luxurious industrial ambiances, sequences, movements, and accentuations during the entire album. Their compositions are thoroughly planned from scratch to finish, and you’ll undoubtfully notice how these musicians paid attention to even the tiniest details. Still, the remaining portion of the instrumentations demonstrates equal amounts of compelling acrobatics and maneuvers. Guitars and bass are contributing to the group with tremendous power, mainly showcased through robust guitar shreds and powerful basslines. You may also hear some sophisticated post-rock orchestrations at particular moments, which are unquestionably uplifting this material on an entirely new level. The exceptional drumming performance liberates generous servings of dynamics through various rhythmic sequences and catchy accentuations. Broken Links invested heart and soul in this material, which will knock your socks off if you’re into cleverly performed industrial music. Conflict::States is currently up for pre-orders at their Bandcamp page. The album will be available at all streaming services on April 30th, so keep your eyes peeled on this one.
