To their great disappointment, Dead Can Dance announced this morning that they will have to cancel their planned European and North American tours.
Brendan Perry, Lisa Gerrard, and a full ensemble of talented musicians had been planning to return to North America for the first time in a decade since their last appearance at the 2013 Coachella Festival. Their previous plans to tour this side of the pond had already been thwarted due to the pandemic – now, it’s health reasons.
They thank their loyal fans for their support. We hope for their healing and rest.

In June last year, the band released Mushin, a nine-minute masterpiece in meditation based around the concept of Japanese archery (Kyudo) and Noh theatre.
The term “Mushin” is a Zen expression, meaning “the mind without mind” and is also referred to as the state of “no-mindedness”. Mushin is achieved when a person’s mind is free from thoughts of anger, fear, or ego during combat or everyday life. That is, a mind not fixed or occupied by thought or emotion and thus open to everything. To give oneself completely to the shooting is the spiritual goal, achieved by the perfection of both the spirit and shooting technique leading to munen musō, “no thoughts, no illusions”.
