Evolfo are back with another outstanding album, which will suit every curious listening apparatus that seeks profoundly detailed psychedelic rock music. After the critically acclaimed Last Of The Acid Cowboys, Evolfo decided to expand their sound even further, so this brand new material sounds expansive as much as possible. If you admired the virtuosities presented on their previous material, then you’ll love their most advanced work to date even more. Site Out Of Mind represents their second full-length material consisting of eleven thoroughly planned numbers that may lean towards psychedelic rock, but as it’s usually the case with this style of music, there’s more than meets the eye.

Perhaps psychedelic rock dominates throughout Site Out Of Mind the most, but Evolfo decided to incorporate other ingredients on this delightful musical journey. You may stumble upon elements of garage rock, garage soul, alternative rock, alternative pop, indie rock, indie pop, soul, lo-fi, krautrock, symphonic rock, and progressive rock. At some points, you would think there are just way too many ingredients floating around, but Evolfo thoroughly planned these musical explorations to the max. Perhaps the psychedelic side of this Brooklyn, NYC-based group comes as a thick layer over the top that defines the musical aesthetics of the Site Out Of Mind. Whatever may be the case, these experimentations are going to the advantage of the group and you’ll solely enjoy each composition presented on this diverse material.

It’s nearly mindblowing how psychedelic rock goes hand in hand with soul, indie pop, or lo-fi music. Evolfo emits adequate doses of each ingredient, so the beforementioned elements are not overwhelming the overall listening experience. The group focuses on calmy, chill, atmospheric vibes during the entire material, but you may also stumble upon more energetic compositions where the group showcases their progressive rock abilities. Still, most of these numbers are levitating between moderate and half-step tempo, where the arpeggiated guitars and organ are dominating the overall ambiance. The basslines are spicing things up a little bit more, but also supporting the rhythm section with warm-sounding low-end tones. Lead vocals are coming as another layer or melodies above these orchestrations, so you’ll be pleasantly surprised how Evolfo sounds throughout the entire album.

This recording is currently up for pre-orders at Royal Potato Family, but you can enjoy Strange Lights and Give Me Time, two singles that are already at all streaming services. Site Out Of Mind comes on vinyl, compact disc, and all streaming services on June 18. Until then, keep your eyes peeled at Royal Potato Family for more detailed information about ordering.
