Bucharest never ceases to amaze me. There seems to be a never ending stream of garage punk’n’roll releases coming from the Romanian capital these days.
Following the great releases of The Nuggers, Las Poftas, and Cold Brats, here’s another one right up to par with their style of high energy, upbeat punk-rock that mixes defiant outcast attitude with the good ol’ garage sound quite well.
In its seven songs Fuck Off And Dracu wallows together catchy garage-rock hooks with traditional punk clatter of buzzing chords and shouted—almost Oi! sounding—vocals that get in and get out before they get tired. All songs are sung in Romanian with some really comical and childish lyrics, I must confess—as far as I can understand from Google Translate and the word of my Romanian pals—but that makes it even more enjoyable to listen to (not all good punk should be dead serious, alright?) Fuck You! Dracu’s simplistic tunes, zero-fucks-given artwork and witty stage presence seems to be top-notch through and through. This is a solid fun release!
