I must admit I fell in love with this artwork as soon as the band has announced a brand new release. There’s something post-apocalyptical, satyrical, and meaningful about it. As soon as you grab this vinyl, you’ll realize that Krang glorifies the Planet Of The Apes franchise, mocks Trump’s administration, and emits a meaningful message that humanity needs to come to its senses in order to survive. We all witnessed the downfall of mankind through various unfortunate events across the globe, and it seems we are rapidly heading to disaster on a worldwide scale thanks to the stupidity of those in power and wealth. It seems that Make Arcade Great Again deals with mistakes we did in the past, points the finger at those who are to blame, and offers solutions for a better future through ten superb skate punk songs.

Still, Krang are spending a decent amount of their brand new recording to showcase their good sense of humor. So, if you’re equally into socially conscious lyrics as much as you’re into satire, then Make Arcade Great Again will be right up your alley. This material is their fourth release in total, or third full-length recording if we’re counting full-lengths only. Comparing to OK USA! EP, Baddest Brain LP, and Singalong LP, Make Arcade Great Again goes even further into various ear-appealing technicalities that will satisfy even the pickiest admirers of profoundly detailed skate punk music. Krang approaches the punk rock sound in a similar manner showcased on their previous recordings, but it seems their music went through a special treatment that uplifted their sound on an entirely new level.

Guitars are continuously dueling through cleverly constructed chord progressions on one and pleasing leads on the other side. The melodic and harmonious themes included within each composition are thoroughly planned to the max, so you’ll especially enjoy Make Arcade Great Again if you’re into these types of technicalities. Vividly hearable bass guitar offers immense support to these guitar dualities through profoundly detailed basslines. These low-end tones are also helping out the rhythm section by enhancing the dynamics of the group even more. Exceptional drumming performance keeps everything in line through energetic rhythmic segments, continuous splashing over cymbals, various accentuations, and fills. The high-pitched lead vocals are going perfectly with the sonic aesthetics of the band, and the occasional singalongs are coming as the appropriate decorations at the particular segments of the songs. Krang spent a lot of time working on this material, and their effort paid off with a perfectly balanced material that defines contemporary skate punk sound.

The entire packaging looks beautiful. Make Arcade Great Again comes with an eye-peeling gatefold that includes everything you need to know about this record, from band photos, lyric sheet, information about the recording process, and other necessary details. The entire packaging is illustrated by Kaz Oomori, an experienced Japanese graphic artist who has done an incredible job. Make Arcade Great Again comes in a couple of vinyl variants like blue with yellow and white splatter, red with white splatter, and yellow with red and brown splatter. Head over to SBÄM Records or Sound Speed Records for more information about ordering this skate punk gem.
