Spokane, WA singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Mark Houston announces his debut full-length The Coast with the latest single. The Watcher is the sixth and the final single which promotes his debut material, set to release on July 16th. The album was mixed and mastered at Amplified Wax Recording Studio by Jimmy Hill, famous for his work with artists such as Tech N9ne and Joe Bonamassa. Like in his previous works, Mark Houston showcases tremendous songwriting and composing abilities, alongside his outstanding vocal and instrumental performance. This particular composition serves as a perfect overture for what you might expect on his debut material, which already indicates signs of a pure masterpiece.

The Watcher is a conceptual composition that explores ideas of oppressive leadership and tyranny. Besides already being thematically luxurious, Mark Houston decorated The Watcher with nearly progressive/psychedelic orchestrations that are uncommon for the indie rock/indie-folk scene. However, these progressive/psychedelic are coming as a bit of refreshment on a repetitious indie scene. Mark Houston showcases his brilliance through detailed chord progressions, dualities between acoustic and electric guitar, and thoughtfully arranged rhythmic patterns. The Watcher is one of those numbers that are going way beyond the plain and simplistic indie scheme. Quite the contrary, this thoroughly planned indie song tends to surprise with each following segment. The Watcher is available on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Bandcamp.
