It’s been a while since we posted an article about some grunge music. The grunge revival is currently a thing across the globe, and there’s a lot of terrific new grunge bands roaming around the underground music scene. The Damn Devils are one of those great upcoming bands that are worth paying attention to, mainly because of their debut album, which came out recently on streaming services. The group consists of brothers in law Vin Perotta and Age Graves and their longtime friend Joey Dominick. The group formed during the quarantine, but this situation hasn’t stopped these creative minds. They started swapping riffs and ideas for their upcoming collaborative debut material, so after a while, they decided to publish their work on streaming services.

Besides grunge, The Damn Devils are exploring a couple of complementary genres along the way. You may hear how stoner, doom rock, alternative rock, classic rock, and hard rock affected their composing and songwriting. Their highly engaging music resembles something that Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, Queens Of The Stone Age, and many other renowned groups would eventually record throughout their careers. The Damn Devils continuously levitate between modern alternative rock and early nineties grunge music with such ease, but the group also includes elements of classic hard rock and stoner in between. Their creativity knows no boundaries, and this particular full-length material demonstrates their clever ideas at full bloom.

Their compositions are calmy, hypnotic, melodic, but at some points, this beast awakes and blows fire through colossal slabs of highly distorted guitar shreds. The group transits from mellow desert rock to a more sludgy doom-a-like metal sound in a matter of seconds but returns to the previous state almost instantly. These giant slabs of noise are acting more like warning signs and indicators that The Damn Devils could sound threatening if they want it. Still, there are a couple of numbers where the group showcases more classic hard rock sound saturated with almost psychedelic rock melodies. The group takes all shapes and sizes during the album, and this continuous diversity during the album comes in smaller chunks fully stacked with various surprises. Nevertheless, The Damn Devils arranged their marvelous debut according to the higher standards, so you will solely enjoy it from scratch to finish.

There are millions of reasons why you should pay closer attention to this self-titled debut recording. Marvelous ideas, great arrangements, exceptional musicianship, and good production are just a couple of them. You will definitely find a lot more qualities on this album if you give it a listen. The album is available at streaming services such as Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube.
