We all remember the good old days of the Red Hot Chili Peppers – Could it be that those days are well and true in their rear view mirror. Could it be that the band members need to take a drive through the city that loves them? Under the bridge of love (Los Angeles) Perhaps there they can rediscover that sound that make them so famous to begin with. Recently, the not so hot “Peppers” left fans disappointed and here’s why…

As per Ultimate Guitar, many fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers left one of the band’s recent concerts less than satisfied, with complaints over the setlist’s balance between their timeless hits and new songs.

As reported by News.com.au, the group performed yesterday, February 2, at the Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia, as part of their 2023 tour to promote last year’s companion albums “Unlimited Love” and “Return of the Dream Canteen”.

RHCP delivered a set that included 7 songs off the latest records, including the singles “Eddie” and “Black Summer”, as well as deeper cuts like “The Heavy Wing” and “Reach Out”.

Many fans, however, were not pleased with the choice of songs, with some reactions on social media including:

“Good experience (but) won’t see ’em again. Their set was new song focused and the crowd struggled to feel it.”

“Been their biggest fan all my life and after that concert would never go again. Played a few old songs but mostly new rubbish that no one knows.”

Some fans also criticized the band’s performance, saying:

“Wish I could take back my decision to go to RHCP. Absolutely gutted by that performance.”

“They sounded good but was disappointed in the complete lack of interaction and engagement with the audience and also not playing a number of songs I expected.”
