Today, Eyedress has returned with a new single, “Teen Mom,” that’ll take you back to coming of age in the ’90s.

The cut pays respect to his mother, and all the sacrifices she made along the way, with a heartwarming chorus: “It’s because of you, I’m good/It’s because of you, I could.” The shoegaze-indebted song also comes with a music video that shifts between film footage (it gives off updated Freaks and Geeks vibes, minus Nick Andopolis’ 29-piece drum kit) and stop-motion claymation shots.

“I came up with the riff and the main chorus idea more than 10 years ago when I was still living with my parents in the Philippines,” Eyedress shares. “Lyrically, I was trying to revisit my childhood and what it was like for me growing up in America. I wanted to show my mom’s perspective because I spent a lot of time with her while my dad would be at work. She would do everything, from driving me to school to driving me and my friends to the mall or the skatepark during our free time.”
