Here are the tweets that got Donald Trump’s Twitter account suspended

Well, it looks like we won’t be seeing any more tweets from Donald Trump.

After locking his account earlier this week, Twitter has permanently suspended Trump from the platform.

On Jan. 6, the U.S. Capitol was taken over by Pro-Trump supporters who were denouncing the results of the Presidental election. While the Senate was certifying the Electoral College votes, which favored President-elect Joe Biden, the supporters forced entry into the U.S. Capitol building.

As a result, members of the Senate and other essential personnel were evacuated and taken to secure locations. In the end, five individuals died during the protests including one woman who was shot during a confrontation between protestors and law enforcement.

The events in Washington, D.C. eventually warranted a response from Trump on social media. In a video shared on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Trump asked the protests to stop, but still mentioned the “stolen” election.

“We had an election that was stolen from us,” Trump stated. “It was a landslide election and everyone knows it, especially the other side.”

Twitter and Facebook quickly slapped a warning on the post. Eventually, however, all three platforms removed the entire video. Twitter also blocked the ability to interact with the video.

After sharing three tweets that Twitter claimed contained “repeated and severe violations” of its civic integrity policy, Trump’s account was locked for 12 hours.

The Twitter Safety account shared various tweets further explaining the situation. Twitter also noted that if Trump continued to violate its policies, his account would be permanently suspended.

“Future violations of the Twitter Rules, including our Civic Integrity or Violent Threats policies, will result in permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump account.”

This means that the account of @realDonaldTrump will be locked for 12 hours following the removal of these Tweets. If the Tweets are not removed, the account will remain locked.

Now, it looks like Twitter has really suspended Trump’s account. On Jan. 8, Trump returned to the social platform to share two tweets. According to Twitter’s statement, these now-removed tweets violated its policies again.

One of the tweets in question was regarding the “disrespect” his supporters have received.

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

He also tweeted that he won’t attend Joe Biden’s inauguration.

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

After sharing these tweets, Twitter made the decision to permanently suspend Trump’s account.

Since the suspension of his account, various trends have emerged on Twitter. “THANK YOU TWITTER,” #trumpbanned and “Twitter HQ” are among the hashtags and phrases growing in popularity as people react to the news.
