HowTheLightGetsIn festival takes place next weekendRescheduled due to the state funeral, the music event will take over Hampstead Heath on the first weekend in October.

The festival has an unusual format, combining live music and talks on philosophy. This year’s topic is Error and Renaissance. The panel discussion will feature acclaimed specialists, including moral philosopher Peter Singer, author Esther Freud, cognitive psychologist Donald Hoffman and neurosurgeon Henry Marsh.

With its focus on the higher realms, the festival showcases artists whose music amplifies thoughtful discussions. The current line-up lists the names of Cornish language and folk revivalist Gwenno, playful synth-pop chantress Vanity Fairy, jazz fusion singer Rosie Frater-Taylor, left-field garage rockers Torture and The Desert Spiders and more.

HowTheLightGetsIn will take place on the premises of Kenwood House in Hampstead Heath on 1 and 2 October.
