95 years ago today, legendary British weekly Melody Maker published its first issue. Despite having Limp Bizkit on its final cover in December 2000, Melody Maker—like its sister mag and longtime rival NME—was definitely an influence on MAGNET in our early days. Their first cover star was Horatio Nicholls, an alias composer Lawrence Wright used; in the conflict-of-interest department, Wright was also the founder of Melody Maker.
