The sixth edition of Lollapalooza Berlin is finally back after its forced two year, pandemic-induced, hiatus. The weekend festival will take place during the last week of September on the grounds of the Olympiastadion and Olympiapark.

Big players Billie Eilish, Foo Fighters, Dua Lipa, Twenty One Pilots, and Kings Of Leon have all previously been a part of the Lollapalooza family. Let’s have a look at this year’s line-up due to perform across the five stages.

The headlining slots are filled with familiar homegrown five-piece East German indie-rock/rap powerhouse Kraftklub, Cologne based rockers AnnenMayKantereit, German hip-hop legends Die Fantastischen Vier, also known as Fanta 4, badass female rapper Badmomzjay plus Berlin masters Seeed. Their perfect blend of ska, reggae, hip-hop, and dancehall can be described as the ultimate good-time music, it comes as no surprise that Seeed have entertained a previous Lollapalooza audience before – the band will close the festival on Sunday night.

The festival atmosphere itself is a fusion of international and local talent – diverse, inclusive and spiced up with a selection of well-known and rising, hip-hop, rhythm & blues, and pop artists: Anne-Marie, Paolo Nutini, Machine Gun Kelly, Joy Denalane, Zoe Wees, Iann Dior. Delicate, acclaimed American singer-songwriter Clairo and Turkish born, London based Emir Taha, hotly tipped to be the next big thing, are all adding to the eclectic and global musical landscape.

We have pre-selected our top five artists in no particular order playing the smaller Alternative and Weingarten stages, in case you fancy a different flavour:

1. Indie-pop from London four-piece Sea Girls who are on fine form, causing a storm across UK festivals this summer.
2. New York City based bassist/singer-songwriter Blu DeTiger is guaranteed to go down a real treat on stage.
3. Danish pop singer Jada is sensational live.
4. 1980’s inspired post-punk and new wave from German singer-songwriter Drangsal for those who prefer darker moods.
5. Austrian songstress Rose May Alaba is set to capture the audience with her catchy, soulful tunes.

Perry’s stage is dedicated to full DJ sets courtesy of Alle Farben, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Robin Schulz, Timmy Trumpet to name a chosen few.

This is a family-friendly festival and it would be incomplete without the dedicated Kidzapalooza area – a magical, fun and activity filled place for children waiting to be explored.

The Lolla Fun Fair will see art installations and acrobatics all over the festival grounds while the Green Neighbourhood (Grüner Kiez) will focus on urgent topics like social responsibility, sustainability, and climate change.

Make Europe green! Climate change does not stop at the borders – The European Commission will have a stall at Lollapalooza Berlin and everyone is invited to join conversations with selected, official, German EU elected representatives or discuss Human and Women’s Rights with dedicated Green Party members.
