Micko & The Mellotronics strip back to a 3 piece and announce the addition of Heidi Heelz (The Fallen Women) on bass.

Micko told us:

“It’s great news that the band has a new incarnation, we were very sad to see Vicky Carroll go but equally happy to invite a new member into the fold. I’d been aware of Heidi as an incredible DJ for sometime but then a friend Tom Del Rio suggested (Heidi) on bass and it totally chimed. On parting with Jon Klein (Ex-Banshees/Specimen). A brilliant contribution was made to the last record, got a lot of respect for Jon as a musician. We both felt that it was time to move to pastures new though, so parted on amicable terms”

Heidi says on joining:

“After seeing Micko & The Mellotronics several times I was delighted to be asked to join. Now we are a three piece, Nick’s powerhouse drumming really shines through. I’m very excited to be involved creatively with such a great band.”

With all songs written for a new album, following last years’ 1/2 Dove – 1/2 Pigeon the band will commence showcasing new material in London and Brighton in December.
