Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx revealed he was offered $25 million to produce Axl Rose and Guns Nâ Roses in a new tweet.
There have been some debates over âRock is deadâ and grunge music supposedly killing metal. It is a long-standing controversial topic. Poison drummer Rikki Rocket recently noted how the âStadium Tourâ by Motley Cure proved âRock âNâ Roll is not dead.â He then teased the fans who donât approve of Poisonâs style of rock music.
Rikki Rocket opens up on Motley Crue
On Friday, September 9, Mötley CrĂŒe, Poison, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts successfully wrapped up their massive joint trek across North America. Originally scheduled for 2020 and then postponed twice, âThe Stadium Tourâ has been a long time coming and would keep experiencing setbacks even as the four bands hit the road â with Tomy Leeâs broken ribs and Bret Michaelsâ hospitalization being only a couple of examples.
Despite the hurdles during the tour, it finally completed at Las Vegasâs Allegiant Stadium, and would drum up so much excitement that it became the fourth best-selling tour of 2022.
In a statement recently published on Facebook, Poisonâs Rikki Rocket argued how the success of âThe Stadium Tourâ indicates that rock music is far from being dead:
âSuch a crazy summer! I think we proved that Rock âNâ Roll is not dead. Neither is our brand of Rock âNâ Roll! We still have our pundits and quite frankly, itâs part of our success. Back in the day, Jazz peeps criticized Rock âNâ Roll for having players who werenât proficient all the while having zero idea what makes good Rock âNâ Roll.â
The drummer went on, apparently poking fun at people who donât think all that highly of Poison in terms of skill and/or complexity:
âPoison isnât a jazz rock fusion/progressive metal band. Hell, most of the time we arenât even really metal, we are Rock âNâ Roll. To those folks, enjoy stuffing 32nd notes into a 150 Bpm song or whatever floats your boat. Rock âNâ Roll moves the soul and if you all hate us for it, then that is cool!
âWe moved souls this summer. I know it. I saw it in the fans eyes. Not the critics. I could not not give two shits about you critics. Baste in your sour cream sauce of hate.
âNuthinâ But a Good Time? Damn right! I love you all! Till next time, remember: Seeing is believing, but feeling is the truth!â
