Danish post-punk group Iceage announced their signing to label Mexican Summer with the trudging new single “The Holding Hand.” Last Iceage was heard from was when they released the single “Lockdown Blues” last April. “The Holding Hand” departs from the punk-oriented sound of their preceding album Beyondless as Iceage trudge through a pensive marsh of stone faces and romanticism.

In a press release vocalist Elias Bender Rønnenfelt said, “the song lives in a slurred world, movements are elastically stretched out and strength is found in weakness while you find it hard to tell the difference between fume and matter. Gently the swaying intensifies, feel it escalate. Reach out for the holding hand, it seems almost within scope now.”
