Taylor Swift to release ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ in July

It’s finally here: Taylor Swift has officially revealed the release date for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). 

The pop singer revealed the surprise news about her next re-recording to fans during her Eras Tour concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville Friday night — the first of three shows in her hometown. During the concert, Swift directed fans’ attention to the screen behind her which said “Speak Now, Taylor’s Version” and “Available July 7.” To celebrate the news, the city’s John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge turned purple.

Swift also posted the news to her Instagram as well. “It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk,” she wrote.

She added: “I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it. With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.”

Fans have speculated that news about Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was on its way. On Sunday, fans’ light-up wristbands for the Eras Tour at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium turned purple at the end of the set. Last month, Swift made a curious statement to fans before she performed Speak Now‘s title track: “I’ve been thinking a lot about one of my albums recently. One of my albums has been on my mind a lot… Lots going on in my brain about it.”

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is due July 7.
