The Used are back! Following the release of the infectious, yet pissed-off 2022 anthem, “Fuck You,” the beloved post-hardcore veterans have dropped the venomous new single “People Are Vomit,” which is sure to soundtrack the dystopian days ahead. The single arrives after the band announced yesterday that their long-awaited ninth studio album, Toxic Positivity, is due out May 19 (via Big Noise).
On “People Are Vomit,” the Used return to their heavier roots in full force, offering a timely critique of the state of the world and the divisive times we are living in. Vocalist Bert McCracken sounds as explosive as ever over the cyber-punk arrangement, with brutally honest lyrics that state, “This future was fucked before it got started/This world is disgusting and people are vomit.”
