Today, LA’s emerging alt-rocker Kit Major releases the music video for her anthemic single “I Wish U Didn’t Hate Me So Much.” A punchy hybrid of ’60s era Brit-pop and ‘90s grunge rock, the garage rock track pulls in nostalgic influences from her childhood stereo while speaking to the stickier emotional situations that come along with adulthood.

“’I Wish U Didn’t Hate Me So Much’ was the first song written for the ‘Love.Sick.Major.’ era,” Major tells AP. “This song feels like a great introduction to my music and where I am right now artistically: exploring the connection between punk and pop, speaking my mind, and retro at heart.”
Growing up in Chicago, Tokyo, and Beijing, Major devoured the eccentric sounds of Sonic Youth, Green Day, Gorillaz and Britney Spears. The result is an explosive artist who values versatile songwriting, bold hooks, and above all, high intensity production that can be found on any project she touches.
Directed and produced by Adrian Vega Albela Osorio, the “I Wish U Didn’t Hate Me So Much” music video is an overly-saturated, nostalgic time warp into peak Tumblr and Photobooth days.
