Watch This! No Breakfast Goodbye: Swimming With Sharks – Video Premiere

Dutch pop/skate-punk outfit No Breakfast Goodbye give Louder Than War an exclusive peek at the video for Swimming With Sharks; their second and final single of 2022 following the pop-punk banger Leave The Seat Up.

The single Swimming With Sharks due on 4th November sees No Breakfast Goodbye take a somewhat different approach to previous releases; the band leans more on harmonic vocals and less on raw energy. The result is a nostalgic reflection on a lost love says singer/guitarist Simon Jansen: ‘Many people know the feeling of ‘the one that got away’, this song is about mine’.

The track contains only a single verse, with the storyline developing mainly in an ever-expanding chorus. Add the extended drum-intro, guitar solo and the gripping instrumental outro and you quickly come to the conclusion that despite respectful nods to early Green Day and others this is not your typical pop-punk tune.

Bassist Freek van Kouteren: ‘This was one of those songs that came about in a continuous flow, as if the song already existed and we just had to pluck it out of the air. I’ve never had a song emerge so effortlessly and organically in the rehearsal room!’

Later this month the band will hit the UK with their friends Ink Bomb before two pre Kerstmis Dates in the Netherlands (that’s Christmas to you and me!!)
